King David knows that nothing this world can offer can compare to God’s lovingkindness, love, and compassion. It is more valuable than any material object, accomplishment, or fleeting pleasure. David finds his purpose, peace and most profound delight in the presence of God’s love.
The lovingkindness of God is not an abstract idea. It is a genuine, absolute truth that we encounter every day. It is displayed in His mercy when we sin, His comfort during difficult times, His direction when we need guidance, and His unwavering loyalty throughout all the seasons.
The stress that comes with life may make us miss the tremendous worth of God’s lovingkindness. Today’s verse reminds us of the immeasurable value of encountering God’s love and kindness.
David states that his lips will worship God because of the Lord’s intense love. Our thanks and admiration for God become second nature when we also experience God’s love. Our words and deeds serve as a testament to His goodness.
Let us intentionally look for ways to experience God’s lovingkindness daily. Let us invite Him into our hearts and allow His love to saturate us. May we be sensitive to His soft words, kind deeds, and ever-present provision. Let us respond by glorifying Him with praises and spreading the good news of His lovingkindness to everyone around us.
