Psalm 100:4 NIV
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.”
How do you enter into your dedicated time with God? Have the cares of this world overcome your thoughts? Has an offence taken root and is foremost on your mind? Has the work you need to complete for the day overwhelmed you?
This Scripture tells us how to enter “His gates” and “His courts” – with thanksgiving and praise. If we are aware of the privilege of entering the throne room of the King of kings and the Lord of lords, we cannot but be thankful as we enter His gates. If we understand the privilege of coming into the presence of the Great I AM, boldly by the blood of the Lamb, sinful as we are, we cannot but praise Him as we enter His courts!
There’s so much to be thankful for and to praise Him, child of God! Do you have food to eat? Is your body covered in clothing? Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have the support of loved ones or your church? God knew us before we were born and knitted us in our mother’s womb. His goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives. Most of all, God sent His only Son to save us from the eternal fires of hell. Christ sacrificed Himself to cleanse us of all our sins. He opened our eyes to see this truth! The list goes on.
Pause. Think of all that God has blessed you with. May your heart be filled with gratitude and your mouth overflow with praise!
