Give to be blessed

Luke 6:38:  Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The principle of being blessed is to give.  Give your time, talents, and treasure.  Invest these things in the right place and sooner or later, you will be blessed with abundance.

Everyone needs so many things in life, be it material or physical or spiritual needs.  Some people look out for shortcuts to be blessed and end up doing wrong things in order to achieve their needs.  God’s word says that in order for us to be blessed, we need to give.  Sounds strange?  How can we give when we ourselves are in need? How can we share something when we know there is going to be an inadequacy? Is God telling us something weird? No, the Bible principle is give and it shall be given unto you.  It can be anything for that matter, not just money.  It can be your time with someone, care, love, not being judgmental, forgiving, etc.  If we show these things to people around us, surely someone else will show it to us in our life when we need them.

What are we doing in our lives as children of God? Are we constantly blaming someone and trying to be their judge? Are we proving we are far more holier than others? Let us stop that attitude and instead be the people whom God wants us to be, people that treasure people in their lives and give their full or invest their full in someone’s life and make that person realize that it is worth living for God.
