Glorify God

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:23,24‬ – “They only were hearing it said, ‘He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.’ And they glorified God because of me.”

Paul had a rather startling testimony. He was a staunch Jew and used to persecute those who believed in Jesus. Paul was so certain that he was being righteous by persecuting the early Christians. And yet, when God met him on the road to Damascus, he experienced a startling transformation through God’s mercy and grace.

Since Paul was a noted personality among the Jews and early Christians, his transformation was not a secret. Everyone knew how He had been changed from the inside out. He was still passionate for God but for all the right reasons. Other believers might not have understood his sudden change of heart, but they knew that their persecutor was now a purposeful preacher of the faith he once tried to destroy.

Our testimonies may not be as dramatic as Paul’s, but we each do have a transformation story. It might span hours, weeks or even years… but when we are transformed, God is glorified. Just like Paul, may our lives be living testimonies of the goodness and grace of God, that others may see who we are now and glorify God.

Matthew 5:16 – “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
