Seek the Source

‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭29:12‬  – “Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.”

Most of us hope to achieve something great in our lives. We strive to do well in our education and get good jobs. We work hard for promotions and eagerly build up our bank balance. We look for fame and recognition, even if it is within our small circle of society.

While there’s nothing wrong in working hard and becoming successful, it is a problem when that quest for success drives us away from our relationship with Christ. If you’re looking for the true secret to success, you’ll find it in the verse above. King David acknowledged that riches and honor come from God alone; He alone has the power to make one great. David understood that in order to be successful in life, He had to seek the Source of all blessing – the Almighty God.

Let’s not strive for riches, honor, popularity or recognition. Let us strive to seek Jesus, the One who holds the whole earth in His hands. When we have Him in our lives, we have everything we need. Jesus is our everything! And while we’re busy seeking His face and obeying His Word, He will bless us beyond our wildest imagination.

Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
