1 John 1:7 NIV
“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.”
In the Holy Bible, darkness often symbolizes sin. We cannot see clearly in the dark and need guidance to move. Darkness makes us blind and incapable of discerning right from wrong. We tend to make poor choices that may have dangerous repercussions in the future. This is exactly the reason why all of us need the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives.
Lord Jesus is often referred to as “the Light” and rightly so, as He represents truth, purity, greatness, and righteousness, among other things. He exposes our sins, flaws, and poor lifestyles – not to condemn us but to set us on the right track and guide us into transformation.
When we receive the Lord Jesus, it becomes impossible to live in darkness. His divine presence brings forth wisdom, knowledge, and grace to live righteously. Walking with Christ Jesus empowers us to make the right decisions and fills us with indescribable peace and joy.
The light of our Lord has the power to cleanse and bless us with a new beginning. It has an edifying effect on our spirit and brings forgiveness from all sins.
Finally, this light that our Lord shines upon us is not just for us but to be shared with the people He has placed in our lives – so that we are a blessing to one another.
Dear Lord, there is no darkness in Your presence. We pray that Your light will direct our paths and help us see clearly. Your light has the power to straighten every crooked way and right every wrong. We love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
