Psalm 138:2:  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.  (KJV)

This is a psalm of David where he is forever thankful to God for his lovingkindness and for Him keeping His word.  Though he was anointed in his tender years by Samuel as God’s chosen king, it took him some years to literally be called as a king.  He had many challenges and hardships which he overcame with God’s help.  David, a man after God’s own heart, learned from all his experiences in life that it is better to trust in God than in men or horses.

David wanted to praise God because He had fulfilled His promise over him of being a king.  He got to know that God was in control of his life.  His trust in God grew with every passing day.  He thanked God because He helped him battle every risky life situation and gave him victory.  God is so truthful and loving.  When we are overwhelmed by every trials in life and think that God has forgotten us completely, that is when God shows up.  He will fulfill everything that He has intended for us.  His delays are not denials at all.  Every word that He has promised will surely come to pass.

God’s word says that His word will not return to Him void.  It will accomplish whatever it is supposed to accomplish.  Even if heaven and earth pass away, His word will not pass away.  All the promises of God in Him are yes and in Him Amen.
