2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Have you been praying several months for something in particular, and you’re yet to get an answer from God? Have you been holding on to a promise God gave you years back, and you’re still waiting for it to be fulfilled? In today’s scripture, Peter assures us that God is not slow in keeping His promises. God is not slow; He is not running late.
God is always on time; just not on our time! We are an instant generation, and we would absolutely love instant fulfilment of promises. But God cares about us too much to do that. While we may think we’re waiting in vain, the truth is that God is working while we’re waiting. He is working in us; He is working in the loved one we’re praying for. He is working in our difficult circumstances.
God is patient and we need to be patient too, as we wait for Him to work in His time. God’s timing is perfect, and He has not failed you yet. Hold on to the promises He’s given you, keep praying for your problem to be resolved, keep interceding on behalf of your loved one. God will keep His promise to you – let there be no doubt about that!
