God is so merciful

Lamentations 3:22-23:  It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. (KJV)

God is merciful towards His children.  His compassions are new every day.  They do not fail.  He is also a faithful God.  We sometimes deserve to be punished for not trusting God as we should, for being unfaithful to Him, for doubting His promises, etc.  Yet, God because of His mercy forgives us.  He knows we are humans.  He knows our weakness and our frailties and accepts us back into His fold without punishing us as we deserve.

Imagine being punished by God for all the mistakes and sins that we commit everyday!  Thank God for Jesus, who is ready to forgive and not punish. God knows that we cannot be 100% perfect like Him but He appreciates every effort we take to please Him in all our ways.  He feels for us in our weakness and even understands the worst kind of disastrous things that we ourselves get into.  Just like how an earthly father is ready to show compassion and mercy on his children, our heavenly Father does it too.  Every morning can be a challenge as the new day dawns, but along with it comes God’s compassion.  We need God everyday because we cannot face any single day without His mercy and His favor on our side.

God is not a policeman on duty who is waiting for us at the end of the road to penalize us for our wrongs.  When we look up to Him for mercy and compassion, He will deliver it to us free of cost.  Don’t you want to experience that?
