 Psalm 145:14 NIV

The Lord upholds all who fall, and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The story of Mary Magdalene is a powerful example of God’s restoring grace. The Gospels tell us that she was delivered from seven demons by Jesus Christ (Luke 8:2). Her life before meeting Jesus reflects a person trapped in darkness, pain, and hopelessness. Yet when she encountered Christ, everything changed.

Mary’s transformation reminds us of the incredible power of God to rescue and restore. No matter how deeply someone may be rooted in sin, brokenness, or despair, God has the power to bring healing and new life. Jesus Himself described God’s heart through the parable of the lost sheep, where the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to search for the one that is lost (Luke 15:4). This shows how deeply God cares for every individual.

The verse of the day brings hope to all who feel weak, discouraged, or forgotten. Even when the world gives up on us, God does not. Scripture assures us, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). God’s love is steadfast and unfailing.

Mary Magdalene’s life beautifully reflects this truth. The woman who was once delivered from darkness later became the first witness of the resurrection (John 20:16-18). God not only restored her but also gave her a divine purpose.

However, there is one important step: we must humble ourselves before God. When we bow before His throne of grace and surrender our lives to Him, He lifts us up and transforms our story.
