Romans 9:20 – “But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, ‘Why have you made me like this?'”
Sasha was not happy at all. She was not picked for the basketball team in school just because she was short. She came home and burst into tears. At that moment, it did not matter that she was her class topper, or that she had the voice of an angel. She was ashamed of her height, and she blamed God for it.
Have you ever blamed God for your height, your weight, your features, or the colour of your skin? Have you ever questioned why God didn’t give you a particular talent or ability? Today’s verse reminds us that God made us exactly the way we are. Can a clay pot look at the potter and question why it was made that way? That is how absurd it is when we question God’s intentions on why He made us a particular way.
God has fashioned you to be unique. There is no other person quite like you in the world. Your features, your personality, your strengths and even your quirky ways make you who you are. God has a unique plan and purpose for you, that only you can accomplish through your life. Let us choose to embrace who we are, and be willing to be molded by our Maker.
