GOD, my strength.

Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like Eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not Faint. Isaiah 40:31

Waiting is generally a test of our patience. When we seek God in prayer, and he instead asks us to wait or he takes time to answer our prayers, we are often led Into contemplating whether God will answer our prayer? Does he even hear my prayer? What if he doesn’t answer? What if he answered and I am unable to understand et cetera. These are common human emotions that come into play when we wait for an answer from the Divine.

But God tells us in the book of Isaiah that those who wait on God will renew their strength. So every time we wait on God to answer our prayers, we must wait in strength, confidence, trusting in the nature of our GOD. In the bible there are many examples of great men and women who have waited on GOD patiently and trusted him to fulfill HIS promises, one such exemplary person is Abraham. GOD gave him a promise of a son and descendants as many as the stars in the sky. In his circumstances having one child itself would be a miracle, but God promised him, descendants, as many as the stars, i.e. literally uncountable. And we see that Abraham had the faith to believe and to wait. The promises came true in his life.

Good things take time, God has nothing but good and perfect gifts to offer us so let us renew our strength by trusting in his nature of goodness, mercy, and favor. He will answer at the right time and in his time he will make all things beautiful. Amen.

I found this so encouraging this morning. As we spent time in prayer for our adult children seeking God’s will for their lives, I am reminded that there is no hurry. We can wait for God, His timing, His perfect will and nothing else. He will surely make all things beautiful in His time because He is a good of mercy and favor and He is always good.
