John 1:16 NKJV
“And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.”
‘Grace’ is a word many of us are familiar with. Teachers award grace marks to keep a student from failing. We get a grace period to pay a bill without the late penalty. According to the Bible, grace is the free and unmerited favor of God. We’re partakers of His grace when we receive the forgiveness of our sins through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s His grace that blesses and sustains us day after day.
Today’s verse is a reminder that it is from our God Almighty that we receive grace upon grace. It is from His fullness, the superabundance of His grace and truth, that we’re blessed. He has heaped on us gift upon gift, favor upon favor, blessing upon blessing – not because we deserve it but because He loves us.
This is a gentle nudge to remind you that God loves you and cares for you. If you’re feeling weary and discouraged, spend some time in prayer and tell God how you feel. Then rest in the fullness of who He is. Intentionally affirm who God is to you, recognize His hand over your life, and be a willing recipient of His grace that will always be sufficient for you.
Praise God
Hallelujah
Amen
