God’s Will – Our Nourishment

Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. John 4:34 (NLT)

Our Lord Jesus came to this earth to do the Father’s will. Jesus said, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38). God’s will was for Jesus to die for our sins, and Jesus fulfilled His Father’s will (John 19:30).
Just as food is pleasant, delightful, and refreshing to the physical body, doing God’s will was essential and enjoyable to our Lord Jesus Christ.” There’s an unimaginable joy and inner satisfaction that comes from obeying the will of God.

Do we need nourishment for our daily life? Are we tired of failure? The will of God will nourish and strengthen us.

The two things that help us discover the will of God for our lives are spiritual wisdom and spiritual understanding. Spiritual wisdom comes from the Holy Spirit and not from the natural mind of a human being.
We need to understand how God looks at our situation and what His word says about that issue. God’s will becomes clear as we pray as per His word.
The second thing necessary to discover the will of God is spiritual understanding, a vision of the future. Understanding is the application of the wisdom we gleaned from reading the word and spending time praying.
God’s will for our lives is to prosper us and not harm us, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)

Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for your will to be accomplished in our lives. Lead us beside still waters and nourish our weary soul. Thank you for your word and presence that is with us at all times. In Jesus name – Amen.
