Psalm 138:8

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of your hands.

Psalm138:8 is David’s confidence in the Lord. He knew that God had a plan for him and that God’s greatness and kindness would make all things perfect at the right time.

The Lord will “perfect” whatever concerns me (James 1:17, Every good and perfect gift come from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows). It clearly means that God is continually working for our good and that he has a perfect plan for us. He will move heaven and earth to fulfill it. His timeline may differ from ours, but he will never abandon his work; rest assured, he always goes above and beyond for us.

David also talks about God’s mercy, which keeps us secure and confident that his favor will be upon us. We may forsake him, but God will never forsake his children, no matter what. He will complete what he started (Philippians 1:6, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus).

No matter how small or big the matter is, take it to God. Anything that concerns us will be made perfect when we believe in his presence. All we need to do is trust him and surrender our worries to him.
