Holy Spirit, our Intercessor

Romans 8:26:  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.’

The Holy Spirit helps a believer how to pray.  When we struggle within ourselves on life’s challenges and stressors, we find it difficult to pray.  We sometimes find it difficult to speak out the right words to God in prayer.  We feel like we are stuck when words don’t come out of our mouth.  That is why we need the Holy spirit to help us to pray.

When the Holy Spirit takes over our prayer time, there is nothing like that.  We begin to speak in tongues or in a language that only God understands.  When we begin to pray in tongues, God starts working.  Our mind is silent or quiet but our spirit is in communication with the Holy Spirit.  He makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  Sometimes emotions cannot be expressed in words.  There is a yearning from deep within to tell God something, to speak out to Him but words do not seem to come.  We feel so overwhelmed sometimes or in anguish of our hearts at other times not knowing how to pray or what to pray.  It is then that the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  He expresses it all to God on our behalf.  He does our job of speaking to God.

When you find it hard to pray, just hand over your prayer session to the Holy Spirit.  Tell Him to take control of your time with God.  He will take up your request and present it to God in a language that God understands.  Isn’t that amazing?
