How much do you weigh?

Proverbs 16:2:  All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.

Man thinks that all his ways are perfect and clean before God.  When God weighs the hearts of men, he finds them short of His standards.  A man thinks that all what he does is pure and just, but God is the ultimate judge.  He weighs and inspects our hearts and finds out the intent and the quality of our so called good deeds and good ways.

The Bible says that there is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof is destruction.  Men plan so many things without God.  It is like the rich man in the parable of Jesus who said to himself eat, drink, and be merry but that very night he died.  This rich young man tore his old barns and built new ones to accommodate the yield of his land.  He disregarded God.  He considered himself as the master and director of his life, but that very night he died and was no more spoken of.  This is what our planning and strategies can do for us.  On the other hand, if we involve God and acknowledge Him in all our thinking and action, we will have success in everything we do.

Not all the ways of man are clean.  God said He is the Way.  Do you want to have a life where God will declare you righteous and upright like how He certified Job? Then, commit your life and your ways to God so what when God weighs your spirit and your heart, you will not be found lacking in things that pertain to God.  When God evaluates us, let us be found in integrity, humility, and generosity of our spirit and heart.  God bless you richly.
