Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:9 (NIV)
Psalm 8 talks about the greatness of our God. It begins and ends, declaring His majesty and His glory. Our God is holy, loving, forgiving, faithful, trustworthy, and so much more. The human vocabulary is insufficient to describe our Lord.
God’s creation is a minute reflection of Him; the full extent of God’s majesty is beyond our comprehension. The heavens, the moon, and the stars that He created remind us of His powerful creative ability. Psalm 8 helps us understand that God is the King of the Universe. He is superior to everything and has complete authority over everything.
The Bible says that this great – magnificent God has our names engraved on the palms of His hands(Isaiah 49:16), and His eyes are on those who fear Him(Psalms 33:18). God’s mighty hands are available to protect us daily. His eyes are watching over us and all the events of our lives.
He sees the difficulties and the pressures, the issues and the suffering, the disappointments and uncertainty. He knows what will happen tomorrow, next week, and next year.
Knowing our human frailty, He promised to watch over us and protect our lives. He will guide us along the best pathway of our lives. His loving heart cares for us. Our Lord says, ‘do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you(Isaiah 41:10)
We are perfectly safe in His arms- Take time to imagine that!
