Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
The world we live in makes it increasingly difficult to avoid sin. Temptations surround us from every direction, and the prevailing attitude often is, “If others are doing it, then so can we.” In fact, sin has become so normalised that choosing holiness can make us feel out of place. This is the reality we face today.
When the Lord Jesus became human and lived among us, He led a sinless life. He overcame every temptation and demonstrated perfect obedience to the Father. He was never swayed by the world’s corruption or enticed by sin’s allure. Instead, He showed us what true holiness looks like in human form.
God, in His infinite wisdom and perfect knowledge, understood that living a life completely void of sin would be nearly impossible for humanity. And that was the very reason He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Saviour.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is not only a symbol of His unconditional love for us, but also a reminder that we are all sinners and it is His precious blood that washes us clean. It is a testimony of His grace and mercy.
Let us, therefore, honour Christ’s sacrifice by leading lives that are pure and holy. It may be difficult in this day and age, but surely with God’s strength it is possible. Every time you are tempted to sin, remember that Jesus Christ died for you so that you may live an abundant life filled with His peace and joy. Let Him be your source of strength in moments of weakness.
