Jesus saves the lost

Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Imagine you’re off on a trekking trip with some very close friends. After hours of fun and adventure, you decide it’s time to get back home. But on the way back, someone discovers that the group has missed the trail and is going around in circles. The realization that you’re all lost puts you on the verge of panic. Everyone pulls out their mobile phones, only to find that they don’t have a signal. Just as you are all giving up hope, you get a mild signal on your phone. You call for help, and your lost group is found again.

As a good friend, you shared your phone with the others and allowed them to be rescued. But in real life, we often forget that we have what our lost friends need in order to be found. We have experienced the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ, while many of our near and dear ones are still walking around in circles. We know that Jesus is the answer to their life’s problems; He is all they need to live a better life. And yet, we hesitate to share the good news with them. Ask Jesus to give you a burden for the lost, and the courage to approach them this week.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for seeking us out and saving us when we were lost. Teach us how we can help others who are lost find you. May Your Holy Spirit equip us to be a light and share the good news with those who are trying to find their way out of the dark.
