Leaning on God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Lot leaned on his own understanding and landed up in a sinful place, eventually losing his wife and corrupting his daughters. Sarah and Abraham leaned on their own understanding and ended up with an Ishmael.

Shortcuts are desirable but if God intended our life to be a shortcut, would we have looked forward to life the way we look forward to? An interesting life is a life that is full of ups and downs, moments of hurry, and a long period of wait because it is in these moments that God prepares us for the eternity that awaits us. Our emotions, the many lacks, and plenty are what makes life beautiful. It is what we need to see the fruit of the Spirit produce a bountiful and fully comprehend the love of God and our true identity in Jesus.

If you have been waiting for a child, trust in the Lord, that Children are a gift from the Lord. If you or a loved one is dealing with a sickness, acknowledge that He took away our infirmities and bore all our diseases. When the wedding gets called off before the vows are made, know that He has a plan to prosper you and not harm you.

Whether it is a minor matter or a life-changing incident, if it is important to you, your Heavenly Father is interested in seeing you get the best out of it. So when moments of despair wear you down, remember your Lord. Allow the whisper of the Holy Spirit to direct your path. May His light be the only light and His Words the only words your spirit is attuned to.
