Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1Corinthians 10:31
To “glorify” God is to honor God with one’s life. Our Lord Jesus fulfilled all of God’s demands and made a way for us to have a relationship with Him. When we surrender our lives to the Lord, we receive forgiveness, eternal life, and freedom. But the freedom in Christ comes with responsibility. Our Lord Jesus has called us to a mission on His behalf, we are His children and we represent Him on this earth, and that changes EVERTYHING – the way we think, talk, and live.
Glorifying God in everything means we honor Him in our words, our relationships, our hobbies, our public, and personal life, even behind the closed doors. It includes our thoughts and actions too. We must evaluate every area of our lives and live it to its fullest for the glory and honor of God. We should strive for every thought and deed to bring joy to our Father in heaven. As believers, we have the privilege and responsibility of representing Christ through the way we live.
So, do our lives point to Christ? Let us ask ourselves daily, “Does my life lead people to Lord Jesus or is it going to turn them away?”
Today, let us pray that God will give us His grace every day to glorify Him in everything, by exercising faith, by loving without hypocrisy, by denying ourselves, and by offering ourselves as “living sacrifices” to God.
