Life of Wisdom

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

How can ‘fearing the Lord’ help you gain wisdom? When we fear someone or something, we avoid making mistakes and obey. Likewise, the fear of the Lord makes us abstain from sin. Living in sin is foolishness. Sin separates us from our God-given purpose in life. But then, wisdom enables you to live in the supernatural. Divine wisdom is folly to the world. The liberal world may call us absurd, but God foresees what we are meant to do. So, if you lack wisdom, ask God, and He will give you liberally.

How can knowing the Holy One lead to understanding? We need to discern our circumstances to be in the right place, at the right time and with the right people. As we grow in the knowledge of God, situations that are meant to destroy us turn around to build us up. Proverbs 24:3 -4 adds to this verse, reflecting that we need wisdom, understanding and knowledge to have a complete life.

Don’t be a brute, living carelessly each day. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and increase in the knowledge of God. Live a life fearing God and not the world. When you fear the world, your faith in God is lacking. Today, ask God to fill you with wisdom, understanding and knowledge to live a life of victory.
