Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Romans 12:16 KJV
In the above verse, the author is encouraging one and all to be in harmony with one another. Even though we may have our own set of thoughts, opinions and views, we are instructed in the above verse to be amicable with one another.
We should not be proud of ourselves but associate with people regardless of their position in society. For it is only through association that we can share the word of God and make a lasting difference in someone `s life. We must readily serve all and live in agreement with one another.
Jesus has set the perfect example as to how one must live with each other in this world. Even though He is the king of kings, He came to down to earth to serve and not to be served.
Jesus in His lifetime here on earth mingled with all sorts of people both rich and poor, masters and servants and leaders and followers. He touched every life He came across and changed every heart He laid hands on.
Finally the verse warns us to never think that we know everything, but be willing to learn and use every opportunity to make ourselves better and wiser.
This verse can be a revelation for most of us who may think that as believers we ought not to keep company with sinners or with people who do not share our view. In fact we may be just what they need in their lives. By sharing the gospel we can introduce them to Jesus which could change their perception forever.
So let us make a commitment today that we will grab every opportunity to reach out to all kinds of people and never stop learning from one another just like Jesus did and make it count.
