No Affliction is Beyond His Rescue

Psalm 34:19-20

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.”

David was a fugitive when he wrote this psalm. Though he was in exile, he knew that the Lord would save him and protect him from harm. Through David’s life, we learn that being righteous doesn’t mean there won’t be any affliction or evil in our lives. Jesus Christ also suffered affliction and persecution, though He was righteous and without sin. However, God delivers and rescues us from all tribulations. He uses such seasons to develop our character for the purpose He has called us.

Affliction and hard times come with an expiry date, but God’s grace, strength, protection, and provision are for eternity. God was with Job in his testing period and with David during his hard times. Our Lord Jesus was afflicted, persecuted, and crucified, and yet the Bible says that not one of His bones was broken (Psalm 34:20). That is our God’s faithfulness and protection.

God allows tests, trials, and hardships to build us and not to drown us. His purpose is to make us more like Christ. Through it all, God is always with us. When we are through, our trials will have equipped us to console and encourage others who are in the same place.

Therefore, take heart, rely on God, be still, and know He’s got our backs. He is our deliverer, protector, and sustainer of life.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your unfailing love and constant presence in my life. In my struggles, trials, and pain, I know you are near; my Deliverer and Defender. I rest in the assurance that You are my Rescuer, and You will see me through every affliction. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.
