Do not blabber in prayer

Matthew 6:8:  Be not ye therefore like unto them; for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

God does not want us to simply say something for the sake of saying.  He does not want us to repeat some meaningless words or utterances when we pray.  Well, prayer is basically a communion with God.  We talk to Him and He listens, and He talks and we listen.  Prayer is something that comes out a genuine heart which carries lot of sincerity and efforts to make ourselves heard to God.  The best part is God knows our needs even before we ask Him.  Isn’t He a wonderful God?

Avoid repeating meaningless phrases and putting on a “godly show off” while praying.  God’s word says that He searches our hearts and tries the reins.  He knows our thoughts, our intent, our scheming and everything.  Then why does God want us to pray if He knows everything before we ask Him? It is because unless we ask of Him, we will not receive His promises.  His word says “Ask and you will receive.”  Therefore, ask God but when you ask, do not make a show off of your religiosity or try and put down somebody who is weak in faith before God.  Stop all the action and the drama and be real before God.  Be who you are.  Don’t try to be someone else when you are not.  Take away pride and ego from your heart and come to Him with a humble spirit.  He knows what you are going to ask even before you open your mouth.

Therefore, try to please God with your lifestyle of prayer and supplication.  Pray in accordance with His will.  Be thankful to Him even if He doesn’t answer your prayer.  Come before God with a pure heart and a clean mind and then make your requests known before God.  He will bless you.
