Our Invincible Stronghold

Proverbs 18:10 – “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”

If you have ever played Hide-and-Seek you know that you need to be very well hidden not to be found, that there is some excitement and almost a feeling of fear (butterflies in your stomach) for the minutes you are in hiding.  But even if you are the last one to be found, the seeker usually finds you.

Well, the game is totally different when the LORD is in it!

Our first victory is in the name of the LORD, Jehovah, Yahweh, I AM WHO I AM, I AM.

In Exodus 34:5 and 6 we read “Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD.  And passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, the LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”

In verse 11 of Proverbs 18 we read that “ A rich man’s wealth is his fortified city; it is ‘like’ a high wall in his ‘imagination’.  Not with our God.

He IS a strong, fortified, mighty tower!

Our refuge, our rock, our fortress!

We, righteous men and women of God, run into our God, our fortress, our salvation, our deliverer – and we are safe, strengthened, set up on high, raised up and exalted!

Let us proclaim: “The LORD is our rock, our fortress, and our deliverer. Our God is our rock, in whom we take refuge, our shield, and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2)

If you want to win in the game of life, make sure you are playing with God on your side!
