Psalm 118:21
I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation.
Just yesterday, many celebrated Christ’s birth. How apt to begin today with this verse that declares that Christ has become our salvation.
Let’s ponder on what the writer of this psalm was trying to say here. We realize that he/she was someone who was desperately praying to the Lord and seeking an answer from Him. The psalmist was probably going through a very difficult situation, something disastrous, maybe even evil where he was seeking to be delivered. Then, he experiences the response and salvation of the Lord! With gratefulness in his heart, he offers his praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.
Think of the many times you have experienced unexpected answers for your prayers. The Lord works in His time and makes all things concerning us beautiful accordingly. If we knew the exact day that the Lord acted so that we could be saved, wouldn’t we celebrate and be festive? Praise God that He is not bound by time, nor distance, nor matter, nor anything! He is fully able to intervene into our circumstances and deliver us with His mighty Hand. He sent His only beloved Son, so that we would not be doomed.
Jesus Christ is our answer, our ever present help in trouble. Knowing that our Lord is not bound should be reason enough for us to sing His praises and celebrate our victory in Him. We are confident that we are more than conquerors through Christ. He WILL turn your mourning into dancing. He WILL answer you, He WILL be with you in times of trouble, He WILL protect you, He WILL rescue you, He WILL honor you!!! (Psalm 91:14)
