Perfect peace

Isaiah 26:3:  You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

People run here and there looking for peace and tranquillity.  Many have come up with meditations and other things to find “peace.”  The real giver of peace is Jesus because He is the only one who said that He is leaving His peace with us.  He also said that He will give His peace.  He is the only one who has left  behind peace and will also give it to us if we ask Him.

The scriptures tell us that “He will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you.”  When a child of God goes through a turmoil and is disturbed, he or she will find perfect peace from God if their mind is focused on Jesus.  When we magnify our situation, we get distracted from our focus on God.  Instead when we stay focused on Jesus, we tend to magnify God and our challenges become very small.  God wants us to trust Him in all circumstances, even in the difficult times.  He wants us to rest assured by allowing ourselves to believe Him.  Once Jesus and His disciples were out on the sea, and after some distance they faced a boisterous storm.  After trying everything they could in their control, they sought Jesus’ help.  He calmed the storm.  Had they sought Jesus right at the start of the storm, their situation would have been controlled.

How many of us seek God first when we are surrounded by trouble? It is better to trust God than to trust in horses and chariots.  It is better to stay focussed on Jesus and have a thankful attitude.
