Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father. Ephesians 5:19-20
The verse mentioned in the book of Ephesians highlights how to lead a life influenced by the Holy Spirit. It encourages believers to express their faith through communal worship, including the use of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. It also emphasises a spirit of gratitude to God in all circumstances, acknowledging His role as the Father.
Instead of whining and complaining about how our society and social life have raised us, we are to focus on the goodness of God and his mercies towards us.
In difficult times, it may not be easy to give thanks. Take heart! In all things, God works for good for those who love Him. In everything, give thanks. (1 Thessalonians 5: 18). Not to say to thank God for the problems, but rather for the strength He is building in us through the difficult experiences in our lives.
Rest assured that God’s perfect love will see us through. The Saviour has rescued us so that we will sing the song of the redeemed. Let us sing it well. Let us sing it constantly. Let us sing it passionately. Let us sing it for His glory and the advancement of His gospel until the time comes when our songs will never end.
What is your stand today? How would others characterise your words and attitudes? Maybe it requires a change; let us work on our words and attitudes that glorify God at all stages and circumstances of our lives.
