Psalm 7:17
“I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.“
We thank God for blessings received: our families and friends, the beauty of creation, material possessions, and circumstances that have turned out well. But in Psalm 7:17, David demonstrates a different kind of thanksgiving prayer. He is determined to praise God despite facing false accusations, slander, and injustice.
Here he is praising God for His righteousness and singing praise to His holy name. His righteousness outlives everything probably even the answered prayer. David is committed to offering his dedication to his God no matter what his situation is.
It is difficult for one to praise and thank God when world around has turned upside down. And to praise and thank when we are drowning in the uncertainty of our lives. It is difficult to praise and thank when people whom you trusted have turned against you. The list can go on. It is in such moments we should throw our hands above and proclaim who he is by praising and thanking Him. Our God is Most High, there is none to compare. He is Sovereign, a promise keeper, and just. He is righteous and he has good plans for us. Our situation has an expiry date but not our God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Therefore, like David let Thanking and praising Him be our lifestyle and unconditional. Let us trust Him for He knows what’s best for us. He is worthy of all our praise and adoration today and always.
Blessed Day Ahead.
