Psalm 91:1
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
In the midst of busy lives, constant notifications, and the pressures of daily responsibilities, it can be almost impossible to find true rest. Even when we pause physically, our minds continue to race, thinking about the future, our tasks ahead, and things beyond our control. Deep down, we long for a place where we can feel safe, calm, and protected.
The Bible speaks of a life lived in continual fellowship with God. To live with God does not mean that we visit Him occasionally; it means we remain with Him. He becomes our constant refuge, the One we always turn to in every moment.
The words “shelter” and “shadow” remind us of God’s protection and presence. He surrounds us with His peace. Just as a shadow never leaves, God is always with us. He is not far away; He is close. In our lives, this means we should choose to stay close to God – not just when things are bad but even when everything is going great.
God’s presence stabilises us. As we make time to speak with Him, reflect on our lives, or be still and know that He is with us, we begin to experience a peace that is not dependent on circumstances.
So today, do not settle for temporary relief. Instead, seek God. Remain close to Him, rest in Him, and allow His peace to surround you. True security does not come from being in control; it comes from living with God, who takes care of everything.
