Ephesians 1:13-14
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
Cylinder Seals were used in the early times for business transactions. Made from semi-precious stones or metals, they were worn by their owners and used as a personal signature on a document or package to legitimize and guarantee authenticity of the deal. When required, this seal would be rolled onto moist clay denoting and revealing the signature.
When you hear the WORD of the Lord and decide to put your trust in the Lord, you believe the Gospel of Christ and receive the Salvation that He offers. In doing so, you acknowledge Him as your Creator and the one who has authority over your life. Now, being born again in Jesus Christ, the Lord God Himself seals you with His precious Holy Spirit, branding you as His own. We know that He is the potter and we are the clay. Therefore, He rolls out His Holy Spirit onto our lives, marking us as His own. We are then legitimately purchased by the Blood of Jesus through our faith in what He’s done for us on the cross of Calvary. There was a transaction made at that cross wherein Jesus Christ redeemed us from death and the consequences of sin. The authenticity of that deal is the Holy Spirit.
Beloved, YOU ARE SEALED by the Almighty Himself!!! The Holy Spirit is His guarantee of His promises, our future inheritance as well as the deliverance and freedom we have in Jesus Christ!!!
