Set Your Faith Ablaze

1 Corinthians 2:9 Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

The incinerating heat from the furnace reduced the soldier to ashes. But the Lord was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego…

Snatched from their homeland, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego served King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. Known for his military prowess, Nebuchadnezzar conquered nations far and beyond the boundaries of Babylon.

Though he was a skillful leader, his ego was as big as his empire. And to stroke this ego, he set up an image of himself and ordered everyone in Babylon to bow before it.

Of course, we know how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship anyone apart from the God of the Bible. Moreover, they told the king that God would save them from the fire.

For Nebuchadnezzar, who considered himself a God of sorts, this statement was unacceptable. He turned up the heat of the furnace to such an extent that it incinerated the soldier who led the boys to their specially prepared crematorium.

While the flames raged around them, the Lord stepped into the fire and saved their lives. In fact, not one hair on their head was burnt, nor did they smell of fire. This led Nebuchadnezzar to say, “…no other god can save in this way.” – Daniel 3:29

Often, we encounter situations where our faith is put to the test. We may be asking God to deliver us from the fire. But God doesn’t always deliver us from the fire. Sometimes, He delivers us in the fire. And that, my friend, is a greater miracle!

Today, let’s set our faith ablaze. No problem is too big for our God! Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who walked out of the furnace without even the smell of fire on them, God will deliver us such that the problem won’t even leave its residue on us!
