Isaiah 26:3

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

We live in a world where peace often feels like a far-off hope. Whether it is wars between countries, friction in our relationships, or unrest within our hearts, it seems like trouble often outweighs peace.

Peace is a state of calmness that can overtake any storm – within ourselves or around us. Today’s verse reminds us that when we focus on God and trust in Him, we will live in perfect and constant peace. The extraordinary calmness that we all long for, to move past our battles, is a gift from God.

According to the Bible, the reign of king Solomon was a time of prosperity and peace (1 Kings 2:45). The name Solomon means peace, and he was a prince of peace. Solomon’s era reveals God’s faithfulness to His covenant made with his father, David.

The ultimate fulfillment of this covenant is in Jesus Christ, the Son of David, who offers us everlasting peace. When Jesus, the foremost Prince of Peace, was born, angels sang (Luke 2:14) – “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to all those on whom His favor rests.”

Our peace is found in Christ alone. When His favor rests on us, the worries of this world cannot steal our peace or joy. We can gain this incredible peace when we walk by the Holy Spirit. As we trust God, regardless of circumstances, we will stay in the peace of His presence and control.

Today, let’s reflect on what is disturbing our peace. Let’s trade everything that affects us with the peace from God that transcends all understanding! Shalom (peace and blessings) to you!
