2 Thessalonians 3:3
The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
We live in a world filled with wickedness and corruption. Casual lying, cheating, gossip, and exploitation of the weak are often overlooked by society. In this modern age, culture increasingly accepts these evils under the sun, choosing to tolerate them rather than stand against them. When we continuously ignore sin, the sharp edges of our conscience begin to blunt. The very actions that once bothered us eventually leave us unaffected, steering us toward a state of spiritual ignorance.
However, a beautiful transformation happens when the Holy Spirit enters our lives. God is a gentle Father who never forces Himself on anyone; instead, He freely gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask (Luke 11:13). The moment the Holy Spirit dwells within us, our conscience is sharpened and reawakened to the things of God.
Suddenly, we begin to feel a healthy conviction whenever we encounter wrongdoing. We receive clear discernment between right and wrong, alongside the supernatural courage to choose what is right. As our conscience pricks us, we begin to see the world exactly as God sees it.
We can take great comfort in the fact that we do not have to fight these battles in our own strength. As 2 Thessalonians 3:3 reminds us, “The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” When we anchor our faith in God, He builds an unshakeable hedge of protection around us. Let us ask for the Holy Spirit daily, trusting our faithful Lord to guard our hearts and keep our faith strong against the darkness.
