1 Peter 5:10
“May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
The harsh reality of life on earth is that we all face trouble but the good news is that we don’t have to face it alone (John 16:33). A child might fall and get hurt but he knows that when he runs to his mother, she will comfort him and make him feel better. We have a loving, all-powerful, limitless Father who is with us night and day. We can always run to Him amid our suffering and He will help us.
The next time you feel discouraged and helpless because of what you’re going through, bring today’s verse to mind. The Lord Jesus Christ provides all the grace you need to make it through your difficult days. It may seem that your suffering is never-ending, but it does have an expiry date. It is only for a little while. God is always with you, comforting and strengthening you, even though you may not always see it.
When the storms fade and you’re out of the darkness, you’ll find that the Lord Himself has perfected you through the difficult circumstances. He will establish you, strengthen you, and settle you. You will bring Him much glory when you live under His will. Remember that this suffering is just temporary but God’s grace is permanent. It’s something you can always count on!
