1 Chronicle 16:8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!
As believers of Christ, we have so much to be thankful for in our lives. One of the greatest things to be thankful for is the sacrificial act of Jesus on the cross of calvary; through which we are redeemed and brought back to Father, through the Son. That act, gave us forgiveness, adoption into His family and eternal life.
Another thing that we can be thankful for is the joy, hope and peace in our hearts. Even through the harsh storms of life, we are assured victory because of our relationship with Him.
Not only are we to be thankful to God in private; but we are called to make His great deeds and works known to others. We are to share His goodness with those around us so that others will come to know and develop a relationship with Him as well. Hence, His church can grow and give thanks to the Lord, our God.
So as we go through the day, take time to recall the blessings He has given us and praise Him for His goodness. Let us not focus on our problems. Rather, let us search for those moments of blessing and God’s goodness in our day-to-day lives. Be grateful to the Lord joyfully, and spread the joy to the world as a part of our great commission.
