The Blessing of God’s People

Joel 2:26 – “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.”

Whom do you refer to as “your people”? Perhaps your immediate family or close friends? They are the people who really get you… the ones who understand who you are and what you stand for. Isn’t it such a blessing that the Almighty God calls us His people? In olden times, God’s people wandered away from Him and faced the consequences of their decision. But in Joel, we see that God will be bringing them back to Him.

God promises that His people will have plenty… they’ll be satisfied with what He gives them. They will not lack. God will restore everything that was lost and renew His relationship with His people. Indeed, God has dealt wondrously with us in this generation as well. When the Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for our sins, it wasn’t a fair exchange. He took our shame on Himself. He endured the consequence of our wrongdoing.

Now, when we put our trust in the Lord and remain His people, we are blessed. No trials of this life can pull us down when the Lord Himself is holding us up. Those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will never be put to shame. You belong to His family. He cares for you more than anyone else ever could. Let that truth put a smile on your face today!
