The Key to Triumph

Psalms 59:17  To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My God of mercy.

David praised God at all times. It did not matter if he was surrounded by enemies on all sides, or his army surrounded the enemy on all sides, praise was constant!

He praised God when he miraculously defeated Goliath. He also praised God when Saul tormented him with death threats. Even Saul’s attempts to kill him did not deter his spirit of Praise!

How could David praise God at all times?

The answer is very simple. David truly trusted God. As a shepherd boy, he experienced the might of God when he killed the lion and the bear. He knew that nothing was impossible with God by his side.

He praised God in the pastures where he grazed his flock. When he was crowned king over Israel, he carried that same praise into the palace.

He transformed himself to fit the role of a King, but his praise remained constant. He still danced without inhibition when praising God, though he was the most respected person in Israel.

God loves the praise of a sincere heart. This Sunday, let’s give God all the praise and glory, irrespective of our situation, because we praise a God who is bigger than our biggest problem!
