The Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8
This life can throw us many challenges and changes. The issues of our daily lives—disappointments, struggles, failures, shameful moments, malice acts of others, and our own specific tests and prospects—all combine at a rate that can make us feel overwhelming. Your circumstances may lead you to feel alone. Take heart! This is not the time to cower in fear or allow discouragement to take root.
The verse mentioned is the promise revealed by God to Joshua through Moses, who must face the major challenge ahead of him. Moses’ successor is Joshua, and he was told that he would continue to lead the people of Israel into the promised land. Joshua knew that it was not going to be an easy mission. Nevertheless, God assured Joshua that He would go before him, be with him, and not leave nor forsake him.
We will not be dismayed when we know and have faith in the assurance of God being with us. The same promise applies to us. Whatever the deterrents ahead of us, know who is going to be with you! Stay assured!
