The Lord is with you

Deuteronomy 20:1 – “When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

The Lord your God is with you. What a comforting scripture! We have personally known and experienced Immanuel, God is with us. And yet, when we are faced with problems in life, we forget the fact that He is with us.

This verse was meant as an encouragement to the Israelites who were wandering in the wilderness, facing vast armies who were trying to defeat them. They were afraid, overwhelmed and dejected. But these words served as a reminder that the God who brought them out from slavery in Egypt was still with them.

Are you faced with a situation that seems insurmountable? Be assured that the Lord who has helped you overcome difficulties in the past is still with you. You need not be afraid even though you are faced with something much stronger, and more powerful than you are capable of handling.

The One who is with you is greater than whatever is coming against you. As long as you put your trust in God (and not on your own abilities/resources), you will not be put to shame. You will come out victorious!
