The Lord redeemed us from our sins.

Isaiah 12: 4 “And on that day you will say: Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted.”

Isaiah 11 prophecies about the shoot of Jesse who will come and stand as a banner for the people. It is about Jesus’ coming into the world and dying on the cross for our sins that would turn the wrath of God against us.

The work of redemption and salvation is the reason to praise the name of the Lord. God was angry with His people because of their sinful ways and idolatry that followed for years even after knowing who God is and what He can do.

But when Jesus died and rose again defeating death once and for all, the anger of God for His people remained no more. Jesus paid the price for our sins so that the Father does not count it against us anymore. We are to go into the world and tell about His deeds and His works that can save mankind.

This is the biggest truth of the universe – that God sent His Son to die in our place so that we do not have to die and enter the gates of hell. We are made free in Jesus and receive eternal life as a gift of God. This is the day Isaiah is talking about in chapter 12. The day of redemption and freedom in Christ.

Let us give praise to the Lord for His great deeds and His plan for salvation and exalt His name on high.
