The Promise of Christ

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Psalm 62:7 KJV

The psalmist in the above verse is reminding each one of us that God is our savior and only through Him, we have salvation. Consequently our glory can come only from Him. Therefore our main purpose in life should be to glorify God in all that we do, say and think.   We are His chosen people and must live for Him alone. We are no longer slaves to sin, since Jesus died on the Cross of Calvary and defeated all forces of darkness and gave us everlasting life. Just like He died for us, we now live for Him.

We are further reminded that God is also the rock of our strength and refuge. He is our defense from every evil attack. In Him we can find comfort, peace and joy. He is our hiding place and shelter from every kind of danger.

This verse is very reassuring and a source of encouragement for all of us.  W e can take heart in the fact that our God is a faithful God and an ever present help in danger. Therefore whom shall we fear? Let us then hold on to this promise of Christ and walk in faith knowing that our Lord in heaven sheds His light and glory upon us and carries us safely in His mighty and trustworthy arms.
