The Will of God

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

We as children of the Lord Jesus Christ must not only pray but also must learn to give thanks – irrespective of what our situation may be. Thanksgiving becomes inseparable from prayer when we trust and put our confidence in our Lord.

God’s will for us is to be filled with joy and that comes when we are thankful. We should learn to grow perfect in thankfulness and be grateful for the bitter and sweet experiences of life. Giving thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ becomes a lifestyle when we learn to count our blessings every day.

Thank God for the everyday things – food on the table, a roof over our head, shoes on our feet and clothes on our back, for family, friends, prayer group and work, for the spiritual blessings – for redeeming, pardon, adopting, regenerating and justifying. For protecting, providing and parenting us.

We should make sure that we are not only involved in constant prayer but also constant thanksgiving, for God desires a thankful spirit.
