Deuteronomy 8:18

“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

The above verse emphasizes on two very important facts. Firstly, we are all very well reminded that all good things come from the Lord our God. He is the God of everything including wealth. It is God who gives us the power and the grace to earn a livelihood so that our financial needs here on earth are met. Secondly, it reassures us about God`s divine nature. God is a promise-keeping God. He does not bless us because He has the power to, but He does it because of the covenant He made with our forefathers many years ago. He has conferred upon each one of us various skills, talents and gifts so that we may be empowered to be profitable and fruitful wherever we are placed. We all have received our own portion of grace from the Almighty.

Isn`t it amazing, that in a world where promises break easy, we have a God who keeps His promises for eternity. Let us hold on to him today and magnify Him for his faithfulness. We may not have earned these promises for ourselves, nonetheless, let us make an effort to make ourselves worthy to receive them.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, Thank you for your eternal covenant. You truly are a promise-keeping God and we cannot thank you enough for it. Lord, even though we deserve nothing, you have given us everything. We pray that you will continue to work on us and someday we will become worthy of your promises. Help us, oh Lord to use our talents appropriately and to spend our wealth wisely. We pray that we will be productive in every area of our lives and glorify you in all that we do. Amen!
