Trusting God with Today

Matthew 6:25

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

This verse isn’t a call to ignore responsibilities, but a gentle reminder to shift our focus from anxiety to trust.

In our fast-paced, pressure-filled world, it’s easy to become consumed with worry, bills, deadlines, health, and plans; these things weigh heavily on our minds. But Jesus calls us to look beyond the visible and trust in the invisible hand of our loving Father. If God takes care of the birds in the sky and clothes the flowers in the field with beauty, how much more will He care for us, His children?

Think of a child whose parents provide for their needs- food, clothing, and shelter. This child doesn’t worry about tomorrow; he simply trusts his parents. In the same way, God invites us to live in trust, not fear. He does not mean we shouldn’t plan for the future, but that our hearts shouldn’t be ruled by fear of what’s next.

This verse teaches us that the true purpose of life is more than what we wear or eat. Instead, it’s about knowing God, walking in His peace, and resting in His care. Worry robs us of joy and drains our strength, but faith releases peace and invites us to experience God’s goodness daily.

Lord, help me trust YOU more than I trust all the things I worry about. Teach me to live today without fear of tomorrow. Amen.
