Tune Into God’s Word

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

What are we hearing today? Is it the fragility of our humanity through the thoughts of our hearts? The pieces of advice from our inner circle? Is it the blaring noises via the plethora of media around us? It is an everyday struggle to tune our hearing, to tune in to what is relevant and tune out from what is irrelevant.

How often do you hear the voice of God? God’s voice is contrary to our human frailty, the foolish counsel of worldly friends or the culture around us. Hearing the voice of God over other prominent noises is a habit we need to develop. We can achieve this only by building intimacy with Him. We should prioritise God and discipline ourselves to devote time to understanding God’s word and communing with Him in prayer. God is eager to fellowship with us daily. The word of God is alive and sharper than a two-edged sword, able to bring lasting transformation in your life(Hebrews 4:12). Soak yourself in God’s word, and you will find your way forward even in impossible situations.

Elijah(James 5:17) was a mighty prophet who could stop rain and bring fire from the heavens. When Elijah heard the voice of the queen who wanted to assassinate him, he fled to a cave. But when he heard the whisper of God, he was set on the right track to fulfil God’s plan for his life. Today, tune into the word of God and keep your faith alive. There is no better way to run the course of your life!
