Hebrews 2:18 – “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”
The word, “temptation” conjures up images of a tiny cartoon devil sitting on your shoulder urging you to make wrong choices that would compromise your faith. In reality, though, it’s defined as, “the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.” None of us are exempt from temptation and some of us struggle with it every single day.
Well, the Lord Jesus Christ wasn’t immune to temptation either. When the devil tempted Him with food and fame, and urged Him to go against what He believed, Jesus Christ did not give in. Since He had been through such temptation Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ is now able to help those of us who are being tempted in this generation.
Whether you’re being tempted with food, fame, media, screens or the need to compromise your faith in order to prove yourself to someone else, stop and turn to God for help. He understands what you’re going through. When in a season of intense suffering and you’re tempted to doubt God’s promises, that’s when you need to hold on to it even more. God sympathizes with your weakness (Hebrews 4:15). You can boldly approach Him with confidence and find mercy and grace to help you in your time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Amen and Amen !! I believe this word is for me amd for this moment of my life. I am stepping into abundance.
Yes and Amen, truely this word is for me too. Every single minute I need you Lord. You alone can guide me, lead me to righteous path. Walk and talk with me Lord. I totally depend on you for everything and every time. In you alone i find rest…
