Isaiah 41:18

“I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.”

Water is considered a sign of life. History tells us that most early civilizations were developed beside water bodies. Water is one of the key elements that space explorers look for on other planets. A severe lack of water leads to famine, starvation, dehydration, and even death. When we look at today’s verse in light of all these facts, we can see what a beautiful promise the Lord has given His people.

So often, we go through dry seasons in our lives. Especially with the pandemic raging on, even regular life seems all the more complicated. We’ve been navigating a wide range of conflicting experiences, not to mention all the grief and loss, with no end in sight. But even in this wilderness, we know our Lord God has not forsaken us.

If you feel you’re in a wilderness right now, hold on to today’s promise from the Lord. He will open up rivers in the dry land, and make your desert bloom again. When you seek Him, He will fill you with the living water of His Spirit and restore your joy once again. Don’t give up on your faith in this difficult time. Let the Lord Jesus Christ comfort you and strengthen you today. Rest in Him and you will see His miraculous provision and protection in your life.
